Post-bossa Brazilian popular song as a living radio and concert category: festival song, Tropicália, and the 1970s singer-songwriter school (Caetano, Gil, Chico, Elis, Milton). It hears Bossa nova for chamber guitar-voice craft and extended harmony, and still lives with Samba. It is not a style of bossa and not a bin for every later Brazilian hit. Tropicália is a 1967–68 program inside this window, not a second genre here (McGowan). Jazz harmony leftover as already arriving through bossa. Choro leftover as a sibling instrumental school. Sertanejo leftover. Axé leftover. Jovem Guarda leftover as a contemporaneous rock-pop circuit, not a child.
