Ska-punk
Also called ska punk, third-wave ska
Late-1980s–90s US (and later global) fusion: ska off-beat and horns at punk speed and volume (Operation Ivy, Mighty Mighty Bosstones). It hears Ska for the skank and horn job, Punk for the short-song shout and DIY single, and Hardcore punk for Gilman-era speed and the skate hall. Two-tone is a British sibling reception, not a parent, and two tone ska punk is not drawn. Reggae waits one step (Ska). Pop-punk and Celtic punk remain leftover bins. Ska-core stays on this node. Third-wave as a leftover market name stays here. Chart landings are ska punk pop.
