Polka
Also called polka dance
Duple-meter couple-dance that explodes from 1830s Bohemia into the European ball. It is a form, not a leftover “Bohemian folk” bin. It hears Romanticism as the craze-culture and Waltz as the ballroom it walks into. It already gives Liscio, the Texas-Czech wing of Western swing, Maxixe, Choro, Conjunto, and Ranchera. Galop leftover as a ball sibling on the same floor, not a parent. Czech folk refused as a catch-all. Polka as comic duple on the operetta floor leftover as a type inside Operetta, not a second hop.
