Tammurriata
Also called tammurra dance, ballo di tammorra
Campanian drum-dance around the large frame drum (tammorra): slower and more grounded than Salentine pizzica, sung in the Vesuvian and Agro Nocerino festa. It is a practice, a sibling of Tarantella napoletana and Pizzica, not a leftover “Italian folk” bin. Locals often distinguish it from tarantella. It may hear Spanish-Naples theatre dance (escuela bolera tammurriata, contested). Tammurriata nera leftover as a 1940s song reception, not a child hop into Canzone napoletana. Do not mint a tarantella parent. Empty extra Given is historically checked.
