Javanese gamelan
Also called gamelan
Court and community ensemble tradition of Central Java: bronze metallophones, gongs, drums, and optional voice, rebab, and flute, organized in colotomic cycles and two tunings (slendro, pelog). The named window opens on Hindu-Buddhist Central Java (Borobudur, Prambanan), not on sixteenth-century Islamic Mataram. The court-drama job is Sanskrit theatre; the bronze kit is local. A Dong Son drum→gong pedigree is the old story and is not drawn. This is not Hindustani classical. Balinese and Sundanese gamelan are siblings, not this file. Outgoing edges here are the 1889 color hop (Impressionism) and the U.S. campus/composer transplant (American gamelan), not a dump onto Romanticism. Rebab leftover as a later West Asian instrument on a local orchestra, not a parent. Empty extra Received/Given is historically checked.
