Deathcore
Also called death-core
Mid-2000s U.S. guitar music that keeps metalcore’s breakdown and scene, then takes death metal’s growl, blast, and chromatic guitar. Despised Icon, Job for a Cowboy, early Bring Me the Horizon, Whitechapel, and Suicide Silence are the usual core. It is not a style of Death metal, not a dialect of Metalcore, and not Grindcore (miniatures and a different 1980s meeting). Metalcore and death metal are the two donors. Slam leftover as a later breakdown tag. Later Bring Me the Horizon pop-metal leftover sits on metalcore pop, not as a deathcore child. Empty Given after that check is historical.
