Techno
Also called Detroit techno
Includes Gabber
Mid-1980s Detroit machine dance music: futurist synth, four-on-the-floor or broken machine pulse, and a post-industrial club (Atkins, May, Saunderson). It hears Electro for the 808/synth grid, House for the Chicago four, Krautrock (Kraftwerk) for the machine, and Funk for the P-Funk futurist program. It gives the four to Trance and Gabber, a chart recoding to Dance-pop, and synth stabs to UK Breakbeat hardcore. Berlin/minimal and acid techno stay on this node. Industrial leftover. Synth-pop waits on krautrock. Disco waits on house. Rave stays a leftover circuit name.
